Concert With Masters – Kent Edition: Hybrid Grand Symposium

Revisiting Kent, Its Roots, and Its Practical Application

Dr. Kent remains one of the most influential yet often misunderstood figures in Homoeopathy. This session brings together four distinguished practitioners to revisit his philosophy from four different vantage points: his actual clinical practice, his spiritual and philosophical roots, the practical application of his essentials, and his synthetic approach to totality.

Dr. Sachin Shah opens with Revisiting Kent, addressing the common misconception that Kent prescribed chiefly on mental symptoms alone. Going back to Kent's original case records, he traces how Kent actually practised and how his method evolved, offering a more accurate picture than the one passed down through repetition.

Dr. Vinayak N. Patkar follows with From Spirit to Cell: Understanding Kentian Pathology Through Swedenborgian Influx. As the philosophical successor to Hahnemann and Boenninghausen, Kent brought a distinct spiritual inclination into homoeopathic thought, shaped by Swedenborgian influence. Dr. Patkar unpacks Kent's Spirit, Soul, Body framework and draws parallels with Indian spiritual philosophy to make these transcendental ideas more accessible to today's practitioners.

Dr. Mandar M. Joshi brings the philosophy back to the clinic with Essentials Revisited. Through two detailed clinical cases, he demonstrates how Kent's principles, often challenging to apply in daily practice, translate into real, workable clinical decisions.

Closing the session, Dr. Nimish V. Mehta presents Synthetic Approach to Totality by Kent: Conceptual Updates and Current Application. He traces Kent's pioneering expansion of materia medica through drug family analysis, and how this evolved into today's organised approach to forming totality through true synthesis, connecting Kent's original conceptual roots to current clinical practice through quotes and real cases.

Together, these four sessions offer a complete arc, from correcting misconceptions about Kent's clinical method to understanding the philosophical foundations behind his thinking, to seeing his essentials and synthetic approach applied in real cases today.
